How to Use Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper Sheets:

Trying any new embroidery technique can be daunting at first, but it’s almost always worth it! Remember the first time you stitched out an applique design? Follow the steps in this tutorial when sewing out a mylar design:

Step 1: find a mylar design you want to embroider. If you don’t have a particular design in mind, click here to view our database of Mylar embroidery designs now.

Step 2: Run regular embroidery element until you reach the “Placement Line” which will stitch a single running stitch outlining the shape for Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper placement.

Step 3: Place one piece of Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper over the “Placement Line”, use painter’s tape if needed to hold it in place.

Step 4: Start the machine and stitch the “Tack Down” single running stitch.

Step 5: Embroidery all the loose-fill stitch elements on the Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper.

Step 6: Before embroidering the finishing outline stitches tear away the Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper.

Step 7: Once the Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper has been completely removed embroider the finishing outline stitches within the design

Use Mylar Specific Embroidery Designs:

Mylar embroidery designs are digitized with a thinner density specifically for the thin film of the Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper to be added underneath the fill areas & allow light to penetrate between the stitches & create a beautiful glitter like effect. Much like an applique design as well, digitizing mylar designs requires a tack down running stitch to hold the material in place.

That being said, you can embroider mylar embroidery designs without inserting a sheet of Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper however you can not embroider a regular embroidery design with a piece of Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper.

A: Yes. We suggest using a Teflon sheet over the Magic Sparkle Embroidery Topper so it does not come in direct contact with an iron or heat press.

A: Go into “fill” in your software and change the spacing from 0.4 to 1.2mm. Turn of the “travel on edge” so there is no underlay as well.
